Our story, since 1986

In 1986 Dr. Allan S. Mohr opened a practice in Massapequa Park built on cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry. Forty years later Dr. Ariel Steinberger carries it on, and the rule has not changed: no cookie-cutter smiles, only the one you asked for.

Dr. Mohr taught cosmetic dentistry to hospital residents for 28 years. Dr. Ariel won the Award of Merit for esthetic dentistry as a student. Between them, thousands of smile makeovers.

Dr. Ariel Steinberger, DDS

The first dentist in his family. He shadowed a cosmetic dentist in college, was captivated by the detail the work demands, and has built his career around it. He listens first, whether you come in with pain, an injury or a smile you hide.

Forty years, one practice.

Dr. Mohr opened Smile Creations in 1986, and his name is still on the sign out front. A board-certified prosthodontist also works with the practice on implant and complex restorative cases.

Porcelain Veneers

Thin porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth, stain-resistant and translucent like enamel. Two appointments, with temporaries in between, and 15 to 20 years of wear.

KOR Whitening

In-office treatment, two weeks with custom trays at home, then a second office visit. Up to ten shades whiter, and it works on tetracycline stains.

All-on-4 Implants

Four implants support a full arch, fitted the same day as a provisional set. The permanent teeth follow once the implants have bonded with the bone.

Laser Gum Lift

A diode soft-tissue laser reshapes a gummy smile, usually in one visit, often without stitches, and with little or no discomfort afterwards.

What people ask before they book.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. New patients who pay directly can take the new patient special: a comprehensive exam, a full set of x-rays and a professional cleaning for $149, until 31 December 2026. Mention the offer when you call (516) 541-7344.

I am nervous about the dentist. What can you do?

Tell us when you book. Nitrous oxide is available and the level can be adjusted throughout the visit, the chairs have built-in La-Z-Boy massagers, and OraVerse can shorten the numb feeling afterwards to about an hour.

Can I be seen today for an emergency?

Yes. Smile Creations offers same-day and walk-in emergency appointments. Call right away and the team will give you first-aid advice over the phone. After hours, leave a message and the voicemail explains what to do.

How long does cosmetic work take?

It depends on the case. Some makeovers are finished in one appointment, others take several visits over a few months. Veneers usually take two appointments. You get a concrete timeline at your one-on-one consultation.

Do you take my insurance?

The practice accepts many popular dental insurance plans, files the paperwork with your insurer for you, and collects your co-payment at the time of service. Call with your plan details and the team will check your coverage.

What if I do not have insurance?

You can still be seen. Cash, checks, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted, and CareCredit, Sunbit and Lending Club offer financing, including 0% interest plans over 6, 12 or 18 months with CareCredit for qualified patients.

Do you see children and families?
